[EVA] Positive Evidence

>I had this problem before. What I ended up concluding
is that the flesh
factor isn't totally determinant. Probably anybody can
synch with anybody,
but higher results will come from those flesh-bonded.

Yet Shinji had never experienced a higher
synchronization level before that, and he was
synchronizing with Unit-02.

>He gets a synchro rate in the end.

I thought the issue was whether or not Shinji was
-completely- synchronized. He wasn't. But if the
issue was whether or not he had a synchronization
ratio then I'll merely confirm it. He did have a
ratio.

>Besides, if it was destined to fail, why do such an
interchange?

In regards to the cross-synchronization experiement, I
was merely gathering the information for use in the
debate here by its participants. I wasn't debating
for or against a theory with it.

But I must say, you are assuming a few things with the
"destined to fail" statement:
1) Your "synchronization by flesh" theory is in fact
at work.
2) That Nerv knows how synchronization works.

Both, I think, need to be substantiated. EBJ is
already postulating an alternative to your first
assumption.

>And if the flesh theory doesn't work, then why Rei
synchs with Yui, and Ritsuko says that's possible
because "similar personality patterns are shared..."?

I will only say that the quote above is ambiguous.
Personally, I interpret the "personality pattern" to
be synonymous with the pilot data that is loaded into
the Evangelions. When interpreted that way, it would
mean that Rei's personality is similar to Shinji's and
that is why the cross-synchronization works in that instance.
