Never the less, a) doesn't stand as supporting evidence as it is. Either
it's in the list because of the ATField emission, or it doesn't support a
thing.

As Spock put it himself, you don't need to watch a rock fall if you let go
of it on a planet with positive(^^) gravity. I don't need to see Rei use
such abilities before Ep.24 to know that she already had them, because Rei
hasn't changed in any relevant way between the two occasions. Moreover,
non-written rules of narration in anime require that such changes are either
shown when they happen or revealed afterwards, and neither of these things
happened.
> What do you mean by riddled with contradictions?
For example, his knowledge that Adam's body is in Gendou's palm and later on
his realization that he's in front of Lilith and not Adam's body, down in
Terminal Dogma. The fact that he says he's made the same body of Adam as
unit 02, and then he says that Rei is like him (whose makeup we know to be
Yui's instead), and wonders whether Gendou is as well, though if the above
is true, while Gendou is - at that stage - a hybridated being of sorts,
Kaworu's not, since he says he's from Adam entirely.
A LOT of things were just thrown in for the sake of it, without any true
reasoning behind. When you boil it down, pretty much anything that is
suspiciously ambiguous can be reduced to "Gainax didn't care". Eva-00's soul
is, by the staffers' own admission, a moot point they didn't deem worth of
dwelling over. There's more.

"You just made your first step into a larger world".
Budget IS a factor here. The footage used in episodes 25 and 26 is mostly
recycled and, since soul copying is a weak theory, the only reason that
image is labelled as Rei I is that they needed a psychedelic image of Rei
and had only that one in stock that would fit the scene.
> That the script is available or not is not an issue here. If the script
says that's Rei-1, what authority does anybody have to deny it?
If nobody sees the script, will they know from the show that it is Rei I
they're watching? No. The script is *secondary* to the *show*.
> The RCB wasn't available at the time of the series, still its used
> for giving fundament to most of it.
The RCB isn't being used to say that an image recycled in times when they
couldn't draw a new one has *always* to be depicting Rei I just because it
fits an otherwise weak theory.

Not that it would matter.
