This is correct. The LD/VHS boxset has Evangelion: Death & Rebirth
(true)^2 and The End of Evangelion (Cinema Edition).
Incidentally, I recall George Chen making a comment that when The End
of Evangelion was re-released a few years (?) later in some theaters
(not Revival, iirc, just EoE) it had the label "Definitive Version" -
which leads me to:

Wait - the theatrical version of EoE *had* spiraling credits, the
video version has the scrolling credits (veritcal). Does the Renewal
version? The most tell-tale sign of the Cinema Version VS. the Home
Video Version is if Asuka says her "No." during the strangulation
scene, or if it's written on screen. Cinema = spoken. Video = written.
