"Soul" is not as in a religous sense. Astral being, spirit or psyche
maybe. More hokum than anything else like Marvel's Doctor Strange (who
can separate physical from astral). Whatever was torn, ripped, sucked
or osmosised from Mrs Souryu - destroyed her sanity. Perhaps what she
saw or encountered psychically was responsible. Her mind IMO was more
fragile than Yui's (Asuka's is too) & was strong enough.
