Asuka's Eva was, but there is no evidence she was killed inside.
Injured yes, but there is no visual indication she was dead - we don't
see he entry tube. The entry plugs are tough & SEELE's production Evas
were programmed to destroy  Evas, not go after a small human.

Asuka was either smart enough to play possum, or was KO'd during the
attack.

I don't understand why he tried to strangle her. His talk with Yui was
meant to have cooled him off some IMO.
