: Comments on the latest Eva stage:

:
: Unlike the TV series where they say that "only one Rei was
: born with a soul," in Sadamoto's manga Rei is initially born
: in the soulless state.
:
: Also, Ritsuko uses the Japanese words "tamashi" (soul) and
: "kokoro" (heart) completely interchangeably.
So Yui's soul was captured & planted in Rei (1 presumably)? Where did
it go when Yui died & was escape blocked. Same goes for Rei 1's death.
The soul was freed again & then re-captured for Rei II. And something
in Eva 00 must have been present to contain it when Rei II died.

:
: Slight modification of the people created from Adam line.
: Instead of Gehirn/NERV creating humans from Adam in the image
: of God, they imitated God in creating humans from Adam.
Also "That is Adam. (image of giant on cross
in Terminal Dogma)"
The crucified figure in Terminal Dogma is not Lilith in the manga
then?
:
: Also, Eva-00 is also shown in the image and referred to as a
: "person" with a human soul.
:
: *ding!*
:
: Commence debate on whose soul is in Eva-00... :P
Here we go again. Naoko Akagi? :)

: > any indignity! Even my own body didn't matter. (tears
: > form in her eyes) But I didn't want him to think that.
: > But... but he... I'm such a fool. ..... And I knew it.
: > Mother and daughter both... such huge fools!
:
: This is a *huge* hint as to what Gendo says to Ritsuko before
: he shoots her in EoE.
Thought I'd read it before! But didn't Ritsuko say it to Gendou then?

If I can add a couple more.
"Rei clones start to
break apart and partially dissolve with expressions of
fright and agony, fouling the liquid around them"
Whatever Ritsuko believes or how she regards them, the Rei clones seem
to feel physical pain & sense danger, perhaps instinctively. Also the
fact that they are reposing in different moods, means they are alive
as well, only as a herd without much human individuality.
Sadamoto gives Shinji the stage exit speech. Somehow I feel cheated.
At the end of episode #23 Misato says (paraphrased a little) "The
tragedy of the Eva project is its people...and I am one of them".
Shinji is speechless.
I get the feeling Sadamoto doesn't have much use for Misato generally.
She gets better personal involvement in Eva anime.
