[EVA] Any maps of the post-Second Impact world?

i actually had a discussion about this with Dr. Frederick Bingham, a physical oceanographer and Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington's Center for Marine Science. (His faculty page is here.) We determined that the sea level change would in fact be approximately 74 meters, give or take a few centimeters (depending on exact conditions at a specific location). Also, the sea level wouldn't be stable for at least two days, possibly up to four, but no more than that. Instantaneous rises would occur all over the southern hemisphere, with the northern hemisphere seeing effects within an hour. Tsunami are to be expected, obviously, which is why the parts of old Tokyo in the Jet Alone Episode are mangled but not underwater.

Incidentally, Google Earth is a good way to tell if any specific location would be underwater or not, although i only have the basic version and i don't know if it can make modified maps or not (maybe in the pro version?). Just set the eleveation to read in meters and any land that is consistently under 74 meters between the location and the coast (not neccessarily the nearest coast, mind you) will be under water. If you need to know about tsunami effects, see if there are any bits of land between the location and the coast that are of higher elevation, as those will break up any incoming tsunami. Also, lots of places won't have any tidal waves at all, simply because other land masses are in the way. For example, the eastern coast of India won't see any full size tsunami because Australia and Indonesia are in the way.

And, as JoeDoeBell already mentioned, Puddle of LCL's maps over at Evamade are pretty decent approximations, though i must point out that his program did not account for the difference between coastal locations and lakes or other low elevation areas that would not actually be affected by the sea level change. But the coastal data is very good. His data was drawn from published USGS materials, by the way, so it's accurate enough.

  Hope that helps some.
