Well argued M. While I more than encourage new ideas to prevent
stagnation, I have to completely disagree with the notion of applying sex
or gender to Adam and Lilith.
I understand where you're coming from Rachel, but I think you're taking
gender/sex a little too little liberally. All of my psychology and
sociology education has uniformly taught me that notions of sex and gender
are misunderstood, and that:
Sex: Physical characteristic
Gender: What one identifies oneself as
So to me, right off the bat, the argument is headed into a bag of worms.
We shouldn't be arguing "gender" of the SoL, we should be arguing the
"sex". I know its not picky semantic stuff, but then again, you have
always been nitpicky about pronunciation, so, to each his/her own I
suppose. =P
Let's not forget that we don't even know the method of how the SoL
procreate. How did the first humans come about anyhoo? Did Lilith bleed
upon the Earth, and the Sea formed the first humans, like the primordial
ooze?
