In episode #22 (I think), when Misato is weeping over losing Kaji, Shinji feels unable to comfort her & *narrates* "I was aware that I was only a child". If Eva is all a recollection, which point/year in the future is it being recollected by Shinji from? Presumably an adult Shinji. And is it to himself, or someone else? Any answers or clues?
