Apologies for conjuring up so much noise. While browsing through recent EML 
posts, my attention was seized by bb's harsh criticisms when the CI 
translations were posted. I opted to show up here personally because (A) I 
wanted to criticise the ad hominem aspect (is this characteristic of 
unbiased information from mature adults?), and (B) I was interested in 
'taking him up' on his own claims, steeped in such an air of absolute 
confidence as they were. I suppose that could be seen as "confrontational", 
or "busting in and picking a fight", but that would be a bit of a 
simplification.

M found it appropriate to drag in mention of "various slights" and how he 
was content to continue ignoring them; I'm not certain what he hoped to 
achieve by that. I also interpreted the rather succinct "drop it" as a hint 
to kill the thread, although I'll admit I was having a rather awful time 
trying to figure out exactly what M was saying in general. The hint-hint and 
you-know-exactly-what-I-mean vagueries/expectations buried throughout, for 
instance, tend not to compute.
