Amen to that. I kinda dislike the scene being 'written off' in an "external 
to narrative" sort of way.

The Japanese for this amuses me. A while back at ANF, we were pulling out 
old EoE fansubs, and in the Psychlo version they had Asuka's line as, "I 
know you only think of me as food!" It got me curious, so I looked the 
original up...

"Shitte 'n no yo. Anta ga watashi o okazu ni shiteru koto."

'Okazu ni suru' is basically 'to use as a masturbatory aid' (as in, what one 
thinks about or looks at while doin' the deed). The "food" comes into the 
equation because 'okazu' literally means a side dish to go along with one's 
rice. "Anta" [you = Shinji] is using "watashi" [me = Asuka] as "okazu".

Correct me if any of that is off, bb.

So if Shinji masturbating to Asuka is the side dish, what would be the main 
course? >::D
