His surrogate mom Misato has also scared him off -- the maneuver in his 
bedroom (oh my), her less than comforting words at Kaworu's shore, and so 
on.

Another thing: Shinji appeared to linger at that shore all night, and when 
we see him there next morning (beginning of #25') he appears to have a 
rather wet head.

He does, however, have to worry about having his session caught on security 
cam. Good thing nobody was paying attention.

No excuses for sexual predation! ;;> But great irony in the way his fappery 
came at both their expenses. (And more irony later, since Asuka's reaction 
upon finding out is, "Do it like always; I'll even stand here and watch.")
