I was actually thinking of how upbeat Maya and Makoto (arguably the  
most "naive" of the Command Center crew) look as Ritsuko successfully  
stops the hacking.  This is in stark contrast to Misato, who is more  
cautious/serious and warns them out loud instead of just thinking it  
in the movie.

No, in the movie Misato also has her hair up in a ponytail as she is  
hacking in the computer room.  Sadamoto just showed her untying it  
(removing the ponytail band) as she walks down the corridor.
