Peter beat me to the punch. Yes, not dubbing it will keep costs down. But
it will also severly reduce the revenue because although some anime fans out
there don't want to admit it, no dub track severly cuts down on the
desirability of the product to very many and absolutely, 100% guarantees it
will never air on american TV (not that the chances are good in the first
place, but no dub brings it from maybe 5% probability to 0% probability).
In the long run, the revenue made by the larger audience the dub will
attract by far outweighs the costs of producing it in the first place.
Anyway, very happy that we'll finally get a decent Region 1 version of this!
Now if someone could just do the same for Galaxy Express 999...
