Soooo...the sentence should read: "Because the Soul in this Unit has shut itself
away, in the absence of [an unspecified, not pinpointed] soul, it is possible to
merge/unite", suggesting perhaps that Unit 02's soul shutting away is not a
sufficient condition for union, but it requires the absence of another soul?

Furthermore, should we deduct that the absence of this other soul would not be
enough either? It would seem so, if we think that "because the soul in this unit
has shut itself away" appears to be the premise to "the absence of [...] soul" as
much as to "it is possible to unite".

However, Seele said Kaworu has Adam's soul. Now, we all know Seele are sons of
snakes on a plane, sending Kaworu to his death and lying to him about what's he
gonna find in Terminal Dogma, nevermind that that is another source of confusion,
but...would they lie? Would he not know? Would he compare himself to Rei, if he
didn't have a soul?
I do not mean to argue with the Japanese grammar here, I'm wondering how these
other bits of info should fit in this perspective.


Aw, why don't we all go to Nasa's website, switch the Nasa tv on, and wait 45 
minutes until Discovery launches? Think of it as relevant to Eva because, um, 
Seele is secretly using it to put one of them pesky spy satellites in orbit. :P
