Yes, the irritating thing is not the errors or misleading
information, since as I said these are relatively minor and few
overall (and let's face it, as a human work it would be nearly
impossible to present this much information without having a few
errors slip in). It was the contrived vagueness (seems/appears/etc.)
that bugged me, especially since Evangelion Chronicle is being billed
as an "Evangelion Encyclopedia" that supposedly answers all the
questions. In fact I am surprised that they even identified Lilith
as the 2nd Angel, and think that it might have been an unintentional
slip. I can easily see a future entry regarding the giant on the
cross in Terminal Dogma saying that Lilith is "said to be the missing
2nd Angel, but the truth is not known."
Incidentally, here is the part about the cores and the S2 Engine.
This is all enclosed in a little white box under the heading
"Additional report"
[From page 01-20: Technology Sheet 01 - Evangelion 1]
-----
"A part called the "core" is present in the Evangelion's chest area.
It's role is unclear (*gah!*), but it is unmistakably an important
part. In addition, during its battle against the 14th Angel Zeruel,
EVA-01 is said to have taken the S2 Engine, an organ peculiar to the
Angels, into itself, and thereafter generated the same thing within
its own body."
Directly below this is a sketch of an Eva's torso with an exposed
core and a screencap of Zeruel closing the protective cover over it's
exposed core, under which is the following text:
"Angels have an S2 Engine either inside or outside of their body."
-----
See what I mean by misleading? It never actually says [Core = S2
Engine], but the wording and juxtaposition of images and text
strongly implies it.

Oh, I expect to recoup most if not all of it.
