Oh well... we talked about that in Tokyo few month ago as well. You know,
seems Gainax staff acutally back-up Mason interpretation too. What we (me
and Mason) seem to agree on is: Gainax, Anno on top, totally messed up the
plot and continuity thing anyway, so the finally kind of 'agreed' on that
interpretation. Possibly (and most likely) in a complete "instrumental" way,
you know. But who cares anyway, the whole Eva plot and script is just full
of loose ends and shit anyway.
The real deal is: just enjoy the show, get its ultimate meaning, and stay
content with that. :-)
And yes, screw the otaku consistency issues and all, of course.
