I don't quite understand. You mean they were censored when they where shown
on TV, or they where censored during production, and thus many things never
made it past that?

Episodes 19 and on, but primarily 25 and 26. Protoculute Addicts reported
that according to someone at Anime Expo with Anno in 1996 (I think Tsurumaki
was there too...) everything after episode 18 was censored but the final two
episode got it the worst and, "they had been botched".
