Mhm... but is Kaji who tought Shinji to not run away,
to choose and decide for himself.
Kaworu-manga make a selfish decision, he doesn't
consider what Shinji will feel after his death, he doesn't
concern what Shinji will do after!
It's not with free will that Shinji-manga choose to kill Kaworu,
he doesn't love Kaworu (like Shinji-anime) but neither
he hates or will kill another innocent & non-combat  
people!
