EoE also seems to imply that at least for sometime, souls don't go anywhere
after death but have to be collected. So this theory indicates that a soul
can be salvaged. NERV just needs to recover the body and suck the soul out
of it and put it into a new vessel. This might be what was meant by Unit03's
core preparation. The idea that NERV has the souls of the dead mothers of
everyone in Shinji's class and keeps them in storage for later is quite
chilling, but makes the most sense.Comments?Peter Svensson
@Kyoko's soul was split, & the split resulted in her madness leading to her
suicide. What then happened to the part which had stayed with Kyoko up unti
when she died? Did it attatch itself to Asuka, making her the child genius &
superbrat she was - enhancing her abilities further. Asuka's "rebirth" in
02, in the lake, could then have been both parts of Kyoko's soul reuniting
(Asuka having "opened up" = freed it), so "complete" Kyoko finding &
comforting Asuka's own soul- as Yui's soul does when Shinji's inside 01 &
goes into meltdown.
Perhaps the sequel to EoE is that all the free "floating" souls from the
mass homicide following 3rd impact, return to new bodies (as Yui said)
naturally-organically-metaphysically, if their owner's wills are so
inclined. Did NERV create scientifically a similar enviroment, or do a
Ghostbusters type capture? :P
