I'm glad to know I could actually contribute to something (heh, I need to
have more confidence in myself), but one slight disclaimer of sorts I failed
to point out earlier is that EoTV and EoE don't necessarily need to be seen
as concurrent, it's just a personal preference (mostly because I don't like
the idea one version of the ending having more of a say then the other; both
together seem to tell the tale of Shinji finally accepting himself
beautifully, IMO) more than anything else.

However, the two endings are at the very least complementary (different ways
of expressing the same ending) despite what outside series sources (the
Renewal/Platinum booklet's stance instantly comes to mind) may say. The main
thing is, Shinji DID reject Instrumentality in both endings, because Shinji
as a person would cease to exist if he accepted Instrumentality; he (and the
others) even stated that himself several times throughout episodes 25 and
26.

just looking through the script of said result is rather crazy.
