The problem is Shinji DIDN'T say "I'm so fucked up" in Japanese, he said
literally (no, not another translation debate again, don't worry ;)) "I'm
the lowest of the low." I could care less what the do with the dub as dubs
are bad by nature, but they could at least have the deceny to get the subs
right. And in terms of Asuka's final line, I really think "I feel sick" is
better than "How disgusting", because yes, Shinji's crying WAS a part of her
disgust, but it wasn't the ONLY REASON. Remember how Shinji said kimochi
warui (ADV: "I feel nauseous.") in episode 1 after breathing LCL for the
first time and Asuka saying kimochi warui (ADV: "It makes me sick.") in the
22' bathscene due to feeling sick? Something that MDWigs pointed out on his
site, and I personally agree with, is part of the reason she says it because
she was recently LCL, her mind linked with everybody else.
(Note there were other times that word was said, such as that battle in
episode 11 when Asuka doesn't want to stay indebted to Shinji from episode
10.)

But I digress (a lot), and a good point that I didn't realize before is "How
disgusting" does keep the vagueness of the original.

In the English track, doesn't Asuka say "shit" a few times, albeit in
German? And that's not entirely true about strongest words, for some stupid
reason Platinum added a line of dub Shinji saying "Bullshit!" Oi....Sure,
just make Shinji say things that are totally out of character for him, the
fans won't notice at all... >_< Although I admit, Platinum's "bonus" of
Spike ranting as Shinji after episode 26 and his "Where the FUCK would I
go?!" line is priceless. ^^;

Well, what we did get was the final edit: Death(true^2), if memory serves me
right, so I'm assuming that it was impossible for some reason to get the
original Death or Death(true). Actually, DID Death(true) include the NPC
material or was that only in the original Death?
And the materials Mangle did get for Rebirth wasn't even Rebirth, it was
"ReAir", which I guess meant that was how Gainax shipped it to them as
opposed to Mangle messing that up? (By ReAir, I mean the stuff in Air was
copy/pasted into Rebirth, which is a shame because Rebirth's certainly
interesting (various differences between that and the final product, it's
fun to spot them! ^^; ) and also why it kinda sucks that Rebirth isn't
included in Renewal. :( )

I don't know how good Bandai Visual is with their releases, but it would be
nice if either them, ADV  or Geneon (formerly Pioneer) could get a hold of
that. I HATE how Mangle just sits on their releases, no wonder some
(probably better) company got a hold of Gunbuster!
