It can. It is mainly a performance issue though, as how the line is 
delivered is critical in this case. But "I'm so fucked up" is capable of 
conveying the meaning that the scene requires. And I do believe that Spike 
pulled it off.

The issue then becomes "Is it a good subtitle choice?" On that regard I'm 
conflicted.

Nuances are always lost in translation, the goal is to keep as many as 
possible.
