You seem to be acknowledging them by stating that they (the
characters) are fake - which is a personal, objective opinion based on
nothing bar the fact that the manga isn't how you want it to be, and
it appears that by using the word fake you are tapping into a
well-worn conceit - that the manga is not as valid as the series.
Because of that, it negates/confuses your argument - at least to me
perhaps.  Maybe there is just a disconnect between what is being
talked about and how it is being talked about.
