: Um, the fact that it's not there? Shinji and Rei, a boy with heavy
problems
: relating to others and a near-autistic girl, use shy contact and
uneasy,
: sketchy conversation to communicate. And that is supposed to
indicate
: romance?
Episodes 5 & 6. There was..something. Then it was destroyed because
bigmouth came along :(
At least Jung in Gunbuster knew to leave Noriko & Kazumi together in
the end. ;)
The most @@ Gainax pair finishing together may be Marie & Sansom in
Nadia!
Asuka & Shinji in EoE are nothing compare to what Rei & Shinji as a
pair *could* have been made to be. True, they have both have tragic
backgrounds, but that's not really original. All A & S are is
temperament role reversal. Perhaps Sadamoto's manga will be a little
more original.
The manga Kaworu is totally unlikeable & IMO self-centered. I liked
anime Kaworu who was both sympathetic & sympathizeable - I felt he was
doing a painful, somewhat conditioned duty & would really have liked
to become a member of the human society he was so intrigued by - a
truly evolved-by-experience "angel".
Hopefully, if he is given more character development in the
compilation movies, none of the manga Kaworu will be incorporated into
his actions or attitude. I don't want the campy clingy Kaworu in
IM2/Angelic Days or other games either...
