If we assume that the clones don't grow, then it wouldn't make sense
for there to be a bunch of clones that look 14 years old when Rei I
was 5ish. It would make more sense for the clone tank to be created
closer to 2015.

Eva-00 wasn't in the command center unless you're saying sometime in
the future, after Rei I's strangulation, Naoko was hanging out above
the command center and Eva-00 went there (is that even possible? Shinji
had to do a kool-aid man through the wall to get there) and swatted her
off.


What I gathered from that scene was that she got pissed about Gendo 
calling her a hag, and upon realizing that who Rei reminded her of (Yui)
she had a momentary lapse of reason (the part of her that is a woman)
choked Rei I. Then she realized she just killed a child, freaked out,
then snuffed herself. Although, her line about Rei can be replaced is
pretty interesting.
