True.  And while I hate to admit it, it would help explain Rei's
appearance to Shinji at the beginning and end of the series.  Moreso the
beginning.

I think they're both similarly silly, however what you're getting at is
how readily ludicrous the combination theory is, mostly because WHY it's
been argued (eye color and Asuka's wounds).  I'm glad THAT theory has
faded into obscurity, the EoE DVD going out of print will be the final
nail in that coffin.
