I think Anno made Rebuild because so many people "didn't get it" the first time.

This is not a web forum. Every thing you write gets e-mailed to all the subscribers on the list. Before you hit "send" please think about whether your message needs to be sent to the entire ML, or if you should just target a single poster with a direct e-mail instead.
Quite a few people have been guilty of sending messages that are really only meant for one other person rather than engaging in a public discussion. A ML functions differently than a Forum, and you have to adjust your habits appropriately. Remember, this is a mailing list to discuss Evangelion, not individual members of Evangelion fandom.
We may now return to a (hopefully fruitful) discussion of the relative merits of Rebuild versus the Television Series. I still have yet to watch Rebuild, and while I can see the argument that it's just yet another attempt to get more money from EVA Otaku, there is something to be said for Evangelion being a product of the times. The Anno who did EVA is dead, and while he may revisit his old work, it will be through a different mindset.
I am certain that Rebuild will be an interesting experience. The Same, Yet Different.
