[EVA] Evangelion's easy-to-understand, complementary ending

To me, its Gendou, with Eva TV's Rei III's complicity. In the TV ending, 
Gendou acts immediately after the death of Kaworu, before any anticipated 
attack on the Magi by SEELE, or on NERV by the JSSDF, can happen. Asuka does 
not come out of her coma, Evas 01 & 02 do not get repaired. There is no 
fight (which is what upset the kids I guess).

And Shinji has therefore not gone through the same torture as he does in 
EoE. Still depressed, but more angry, he lashes out & cocoons himself in a 
shell where he feels safe, destroying all threats. In EoE Shinji has no 
aggression, in Eva TV he has. The EoE story touches shoulders with Eva TV 
ending, but EoE has an unhappy ending (shattered lights still). Shinji's 
strangling Asuka is changing his mind & returning his rejection of reality. 
It is then the end of TV 25, start of TV 26, & shows that he chooses 
communal happiness when he gains mental self-worth & peace with himself.
