I've seen some horrible sub jobs, so even that's no guarantee.
@but on DVDs they can be turned off. With dubs its all or nothing.

If that was my inference, then I would be inferring that I am less of a
fan than you, because I actually paid $20-$25 a tape to first experience
the show English dubbed. I made a conscious choice to experience the dub.
You just happened to watch it on television for free in the format that
was given to you.

Is reading so hard? I concede that subtitling is still a derivation,
however at least the subtitles don't purposely alter or re-contextualize
the show at a whim.
