Is that Ghost Misato saying so, narration over her corpse, or her
dying thoughts?

Let's not be overoptimistic. An entire stage could be eaten up with
Asuka defeating the harpies and them suddenly reviving. 'Outro: Mass
Production Series reborn! Asuka's plan...?' And certainly then another
stage could be eaten up with Shinji freaking out and some ancillary
material from other POVs.

(That said, I'm a little torn about Misato's death. On the one hand,
I'm bothered by the echoes of WWII: grenade suicide, especially on
Okinawa, was one of the standard methods. On the other hand, it's a
more active and badass death than simply being fatally wounded,
bleeding out on the floor, and then being blown up by the JSSDF. On
the gripping hand, is a heroic death really appropriate to NGE?)
