Why do you always call it "the real ReBirth" when End of Eva superseded "ReBirth" in every way?
Wasn't "ReBirth" itself just a rough cut of End of Eva?
Isn't "ReBirth" simply a crude version of the first two thirds of End of Eva, *only* of possible value to obsessive collectors?

They were slated to release the Renewal versions of the movies in 2006,
they never got around to it. Which makes me curious, did they pay Gainax
a bunch of money for the updated master, but then never got it together
and released it? Because they wouldn't have released a press release
unless the ink had dried on the deal.
I would really like to see someone pick up the movies at some point. It
would be nice to have a proper DVD with the movies in good quality, and
preferably the real Rebirth.
