As far as I can tell, Rebirth wasn't altered from theatrical release to home video, though I probably should look into that more as it's not necessarily a guarantee. I can say that Death and Rebirth was first shown on the Wowow satellite channel, VHS recordings of which were used as the basis for the fansubs of D&R, and that the LD Movie Box Set included Death (true^2), Rebirth, Episode 25' and Episode 26'. Your copy of Rebirth is almost certainly from the LD Movie Box Set or possibly the first DVD Movie collection. I'm not entirely sure when the decision to shove the original cut of Rebirth under the rug occurred.
