Oh he openly said this at Fanime some years ago (check the archives) - basically, he took the ONE Babylonian reference - Marduk and now insists that it's all based on that.

The worst part is that he can't even cite ignorance as an excuse:  he knows OF the guidebooks, the theatrical booklets, everything....but apparently thumbed through them literally once years ago, and now ignores them.  Sort of like how in the End of Eva DVD commentary he *mentioned in passing that he didn't bother to watch the Director's Cut episodes*, then at multiple points starting guessing about things that were fully explained in those (i.e. I think he didn't know Adam was in Gendo's hand)

Only an idiot would think that Adam, Eve, Lilith, the lance of Longinus and
all the other judeo-christian mythology winks and nods would be Sumerian;
the only thing "Sumerian" is the Marduk institute.

Anyone mistaking the rest for Sumerian, or believing others claim that it is
Sumerian rightfully deserve the time they lost for their own idiocy and not
double checking their sources..
