[EVA] Angel plans

angel in episode 1 was able to change his shape, and another could
replicate. Inhuman and surealistic abilities are part of the series.

I know this was discussed before, but does anyone have any thoughts on just
what the angels would have done had they defeated the Evas in battle long
enough to finish whatever it was they were doing.  Sounds weird, so let me
give an example.  I think Ramiel, the blue double pyramid one, will do
nicely.  As seen in episodes 5 and 6 (?), Ramiel (at least I think it was
Ramiel) was attempting to drill a hole through the layers of armour
protecting Geofront.  Now what exactly was he/she/it going to do once the
armour had been penetrated.  That drill didn't look particularly wide, and
there was no way in hell (no pun) that Ramiel was going to squeeze down
there.  Anyone who has read Evangelion R (go read it!  read it!) might
remember the angel who dropped its core down the chute or whatever, but I
don't think the core would have fit in this case.  Judging from the anime,
the drill was about the size of a car in diameter (or less IIRC).  In that
same episode, we see Gendou standing in from of a _piece_ of a core that is
way larger than him.  And most of the cores appear to be about the same
size
(note of course that we never actually see this angel's core although we
know it has one from the dialouge with Ritsuko).  So if the angel had blown
through unit 00 and unit 01, you'd probably just have a really confused
angel looking down a tiny hole that it just spent several hours drilling.
Why didn't it just blast a hole through the majority of the layers?  Well,
as Gareth Ortiz once said, they didn't get the fruit of wisdom ^_^.  Any
thoughts?
