Yes, audition.  Most of the char have its own voice.  Pen-pen is sharing
the seiyuu with Rei (Hayashibara Megumi).  HMegumi, Miyamura Youko(Asuka),
and Nagasawa Miki(Maya) also have done "public announcement" thru out the
TV series.  Some rumor out there was saying that HMegumi had also done
the voices of EVA-01, but no one can prove it.  In EVA CD Addition, however,
all Eva/Angel/Monster/etc's voice/noise is produced by Anno-sensei himself.
