=> Interesting point. And to fit in your theory, I've this little idea of my
own. Shinji was left with Asuka at the end of the HCP so as to continue the
line of "potential representatives" of the human race. If Shinji was the
only "uncomplimented" human and failed to achieve HCP the next time round,
there won't be any future representatives of the human race to attempt the HCP.
