Yeah, I've heard that "Fly me to the moon" was a classic, but I've never
actually heard it from anywhere until I watched EVA. What about ya folks?
And one side note, why the heck does Gainax wanna make so many versions of
a song. I can understand that voices actors are sometimes used to sing
the opening or ending theme because of their popularity. To be honest,
I'm an all-time Gainax fan (addicted to "Secret of Blue Water"), but 20+
or more (?), isn't Gainax too blood-sucking of an anime company? I think
one CD that has "Asuka in night-gown" on the cover is the one that has
many "Fly me"s. I'm not a music person, by no means (^_^), so I don't
wanna comment on the songs. But the version that I like the best was
the fast upbeat version that's played at the end of 18 (?), the
"Touji-got-beat-up" episode, it's really catchy when they speed up the
tempo. By the way, the Hayashibara Megumi version sounds good too, her
voice is so fragile in there, unlike her ultrabubbly parts in some other
anime.
