Yes, Asuka is a mix.   But she's not a half, she's 1/4 Japanese and 3/4
German, that's what I got from most of the webpages.  She is in fact an
American citizen despite of her heritage.  The only way Asuka can get 1/4
of Japanese blood is that either one of her grandparents is a full-blooded
Japanese.  So her mother is a 1/2 Japanese.
