I had always thought that Gendo and Fuyutsuki had always known Kaji's a 
spy. There was an epsiode in a very brief scene, probably the one after 
EVA01 had made dinner out of one of the Angels, where Kaji and Gendo 
were having a frank discussion(Kaji was doing most of the talking) where 
he told Gendo that the "awakening" of EVA unit 01 would not go unnoticed 
by SEELE.  Now that's a quite frank discussion about the EVA01 there, 
does that mean that he's employed by Gendo?

## Well, he is. I think?

And then there's the question of Kaji's role in NERV. Just what does he 
do there? Mope around and spy on his spare time?

## I think Kaji has an official position in NERV, something like the
## secret services of NERV... best place for a triple-agent to work, 
## right? :)
