In episode 1, before Shinji was picked up by Misato, we catch a glimpse of 
REI on the roads!!! Anybody care to offer a explaination?? Is there a 
deeper meaning?

## I think she's just there. However, it creates a picture which looks
## more like in a dream, with all its accompanying symbolism. I think
## that's what happened to Shinji when he saw this. It etched in his
## mind so that later in the series the same picture kept turning up.
     
Also, why did GAINAX use 1st "Children" instead of "Child"? Did Anno wanted 
to hint something by purposely using "Children"?

## Bad English. Nothing more, nothing less. But ANNO might tell you that
## he deliberately did that. Just like he said he intentionally did Ep.25
## and Ep.26 that way, without external pressure. Well, if he didn't count
## lack of funding as external pressure....
