If I only wanted to buy one CD, what will it be? Any recomendations? I have 
all the VCDs but haven't watched the movies. Which CD captures the best of 
the EVA spirit?
     
## Haven't heard the EOE soundtrack, so I could not comment on that one. 
## But if you *really* want to have one CD that captures the EVA spirit, 
## I'd recommend Volume THREE. It contains BGM that captures the dark
## side of EVA: The void, the coldness, the loneliness, the tragedy, the
## horror. And its theme song, "Shiawase wa Tsumi no nioi" (Happiness
## bears the smell of Guilt) captures the loneliness and helpnesses of
## reality really well. The music arrangement is the darkest among all 
## songs of EVA. And it got ASUKA in the cover!!!!!

## However, if you want to have smooth music or fighting music or light
## music, go for Vol.1 or 2. For the TV theme song, go for Vol.1; and
## for the BGM version of "Thantos" and the sweetest song in EVA, go 
## for Vol.2 (although the other song in Vol.3 -- Unlimited Embrace --
## is also sweet).g

## As for the extra soundtrack, not much recommendation for BGM or
## song. If you want to get the Seiyuu playing the EVA drama, go 
## for it.
