Shinji's EVA houses the soul of Yui, his mother. While whose soul is in
Asuka's EVA is unclear to me, I guess it's also her mother's soul. Why a
female soul? I've always thought that humans are closer to females rather
than males. I guess it does not matter as long as the pilot considers that
soul close to his/her heart and is important. Which is most likely to be a
female.
