I agree that EVA would be even better if it lasted more than 26 episodes.
Maybe 100? I believe Anno would mould EVA into a even better story if it
was longer. Maybe there will be more light-hearted episodes leading to a
long-awaited shocking finale. But I believe the problem is always the
money. Even with 26 episodes only, we can see how tight Gainax's budget is,
with lots of stills and reused cells. Maybe with money, Anno could have
made a better series with top-quality animation coupled with a top-quality
story. The perfection maybe of anime as a storytelling medium.
