OK, I just checked a page,
http://www1.nisiq.net/~onizuka/literal/EVA10.txt, which 
is part of a site of some students in Japan I believe with their
translation. In that
version, the translation is:

Asuka:  Phew, Shinji!
        Idiot! You didn't have to do that!
