Actually, it's more of a gender differance... Yound boys usually use "boku" 
for "I" whereas for girls, it's "atashi". "Ore" is commonly used by older boys 

## I do know that :-) but many in this ML may not. Thanks for bringing this
## up. However, Zhou's original statement was that *he* did not use "boku"
## and I think this is not really surprising. He did not grow up speaking

but I think girls stick with "atashi", unless they are what you would call a 
"tomboy"... 

## Actually more and more girls use the more neutral "watashi" now...
