[EVA] Rei and the glass of water

I noticed in the opening credits that they show a drawing of Yui Ikari and
then immediatly afterwards show a picture of Rei sitting in the nude with
her arms around her knees beside what I think is the beaker of water (???)
in her room.....

Any comments??
