Uh, this sounds a bit weird to me...I think Yui's a good mother 
*just* because she planned her accident. Truly, I had the impression (but I would like
to _stress_ that it's just an impression) that somehow
she could have done it for Shinji's sake. In order to see the HCP project  accomplished,
though in her own  view of it.
Anyway, as I haven't seen the movie (just skimmed some summaries of EoE, but forced
myself not to spoil me too much ^_^;;), I can't tell it for sure.

Think so? There's evidence of it in the RCB and, I think, in EOE, as well.
Quoting the Red Cross Book:
"It seems that this accident was actually intended by her(=Yui's, heles' note) will. Age
when she died: 27."

Personally, I like thinking she planned the "accident" (since I know it may be like
