[EVA][RANT] Religion?

Religion.  The single most aggrivating topic in human history, and
Anno had to shove it right in there.  IMNSHO, Shinseiki Evangelion is
the one anime with the LARGEST amount of religious sybolism.  It is
everywhere.  I mean, let's look past the names.  When it all comes
down to it, we have a purge of the wicked (Everyone turns to LCL in
EoE), a Christ character (Kaworu gives his life to save everyone
else), a new beginning for the earth (Adam & Eve = Shinji & Asuka),
and the kicker, SOULS (In every piloted Eva).  Now, if Ikari Yui's
soul is floating around inside EVA 01, and you can say, with all your
marbles intact, that there is NO religious symbolism, I wonder about
the quality of those marbles.

Now, as for the names of items.  By the gods, man, there is all the
religious symbolism you need!  By dismissing them as just names of
things, you dismiss many of the truths of any religion!  The bible &
the torah is just the names of some books.  Books are just a name for
written theology.  Written theology is just a name for words on paper.
 Words are just a medium for thought.  Thought is just a chemical
reaction in the brain.  Chemicals are not real.  You are all just a
figment of my imagination, any you all better be damn glad I don't
forget about you!

IMAO, Religion is the basebone for NGE.  If your head hurts, take some
aspirin.  If you don't want to deal with religion, stop reading posts
about it.  There's plenty of other stuff floating about.
