The closest thing I can think of to a dummy plug is the 'ghost' in The
Ghost in the Shell. There is a difference, however. The 'ghost' was a
complete digitalization of the soul, while the dummy plug was a
digitalization of the thought pattern.
Here's the question: Can you back everything you say and name everything
you cannot?
## You raise a very good question, SeventhOne. It seems that there is
## indeed some critical difference between the digitalization of the
## soul as in Ghost in the Shell, and the digitalization of personal
## pattern, as in the dummy plug in Evangelion.
## Peronally I don't want to delve into the question of the
## possiblity of this difference could actually exist. I just think
## that there is indeed a difference and the digitaliation of personal
## pattern does not constitue a soul creation.
As of this moment, the EVAs' need for souls, no matter what the purpose
is still under debate. The fact that the MP EVAs might be somewhat
different from design has been taken into consideration, therefore all
argument is limited to UNIT-00 and UNIT-04, as it's known that UNIT-01
and UNIT-02 have souls. The question is: Do they need them?
## Now I think we are indeed talking. This question is still very much
## up to debate. UNIT-00 is wide open to this discusssion. I can still
## accept it may have no soul although I am inclined to it having a
## soul. As for UNIT-03, it comes down to whether a human pilot needs
## a soul in the EVA to pilot. I understand you and I definitely have
## some disagreements here.
